From May 18 through June 30, 2020, Austin, Texas-based ABC Home & Commercial Services is donating $20 to a local food bank for every new, signed ongoing service agreement.

“The decision to donate a portion of our sales was easy. As an essential business in Texas, we are grateful to remain open throughout COVID-19 and we appreciate the trust our community has placed in ABC by letting us in and around their homes or businesses on a regular basis,” notes Bobby Jenkins, president of the company and — along with brothers Raleigh and Dennis — an “ABCs of Growth” columnist for Pest Management Professional. “We understand how important it is to support our neighbors in this time of need.”

ABC’s new ongoing service agreements range from annual pest control agreements to weekly pool cleanings, to maintenance on air-conditioning systems to mowing and fertilizing of yards.

“Our goal is to contribute approximately $50,000 over the next few weeks as we start this program,” Jenkins said in a news release, which notes that each $20 is able to provide 80 meals to those in need. “We hope to reach the goal and are able to help the local food banks ensure families have food.”

ABC has offices and satellite offices in Austin, Bastrop, Bryan/College Station, Corpus Christi, Georgetown, Marble Falls, San Antonio, San Marcos, and Temple/Belton, Texas. It will be donating to The Central Texas Food Bank, Brazos Valley Food Bank, Coastal Bend Food Bank, and the San Antonio Food Bank, as well as the food pantries that operate in conjunction with the food banks.

“The increased demand for our services brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic has stretched our resources to the limit,” Derrick Chubbs, president and CEO of the Central Texas Food Bank, explained in a news release. “This program from our friends at ABC Home & Commercial Services demonstrates the value of a truly caring community during these challenging times.”
