Stockholm, Sweden-based Anticimex expanded its U.S. footprint with the acquisition of EnviroPest, which has been serving residential and commercial customers throughout northern Colorado since 1989. Terms were not disclosed.
EnviroPest CEO Marc Dykstra is the second generation of the Dykstra family to own and operate the Windsor, Colo.-based firm. He was the full-time leader from 2001 to 2011 before taking a step back to dedicate more of his time to another business, Lobster Marketing, which he sold in 2018.
“For the past 30 years, my family and I have been committed to creating great opportunities for our people,” he said in a news release. “Now, with Anticimex as our partner, we are excited to continue this journey for our ever-growing team throughout Colorado.”
In 2013, Dykstra hired Kevin Lemasters to serve as president of EnviroPest, and the latter will continue to lead the company after the Anticimex transaction closes. Lemasters is currently serving on the board of directors for the Colorado Pest Control Association, and previously served as president from 2014-2017. Lemasters also served on the board of the National Pest Management Association (NPMA) from 2017-2019, and was recognized as Chairperson of the Year in 2020 for his work on the NPMA Public Policy Committee.
“As we continued to grow over the past few years, we knew it was time to look for a partner that could help us expand into the Denver market, and provide the next level of opportunities for our team,” Lemasters explained in the news release. “Seeing the success our industry friends have had with Anticimex made the decision easy for us. We are excited about what the next few years have in store.”
With the acquisition, Anticimex marks its first transaction in the western United States. Mikael Vinje, regional president Anticimex North America, said in the news release, “Kevin and the team at EnviroPest are the ideal partners for Anticimex as we strive to build a world-class organization in Colorado and beyond. The local leadership and outstanding reputation that EnviroPest has fostered over many years, as well as their people-first culture, are well aligned with Anticimex’s core values of trust, passion and innovation. We are proud to welcome them to the Anticimex family.”
