The CPD assignments are designed for those working in pest control who are looking to improve their knowledge and understanding of subjects relevant to a role in pest management.
The new assignment, put together by BPCA’s training and technical teams, asks pest professionals to research the history of the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974.
The aim is to research when and why it was brought in, what are your responsibilities, and what are the differences between near-misses and incidents. Answers should be essay-based with a minimum of 100 words.
Additional points will be awarded where an understanding of the wider aspects and impacts of health, safety and legislation within a pest management environment is demonstrated.
You can view the instructions and download the assignment on the CPD assignment page of the BPCA website.
The BPCA Technical team will review the assignments and the best ones will be awarded a certificate of excellence from BPCA, recognising the hard work that goes into completing them.
There’s no time scale for completing the assignments – you can work at your own speed and if you’re on BPCA Registered, you can submit them to BPCA for review and CPD points allocation once finished.
Your submission will be allocated CPD points based on the number of hours the assignment has taken you to complete, up to a maximum of four hours.
