Jacksonville, Fla.-based McCall Service has acquired Savannah Termite & Pest Control, Savannah, Ga. Terms were not disclosed, but the deal adds to McCall’s existing pest control business in East Georgia and the Low Country of South Carolina.
“Mike and Deborah built an exceptional company with a strong brand and should be very proud of what they have achieved with their team,” Jennings Cooksey IV, McCall’s general counsel and director, business development said in a news release of Savannah’s co-owners, Mike and Deborah Warren. “All employees of Savannah Termite & Pest Control will transition over to McCall, be grandfathered into our robust benefits programs, and offered customized career plans for progression within the company moving forward.”
Mike Warren has entered into a consulting period with McCall, and according to the news release, intends to remain involved with the Savannah business community. He has been in the home-services industry since 1997. Prior to owning Savannah Termite and Pest Control, he owned and operated the ServiceMaster franchise that served Middle Georgia. Starting from scratch, he built that business into a successful enterprise, which he sold in 2014.
Warren is also a military veteran: He received his commission as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Army Reserve in 1987 and served in the Army Reserve from 1990 until 1996. His Army Reserve unit, the 209th Broadcast Public Affairs Detachment, was activated in support of Operation Desert Storm. The unit served six months in Saudi Arabia. As “the voice of Desert Storm,” they operated the radio stations that broadcast entertainment and information to the troops.
